Introduction of oil and gas separator

The oil and gas separator is a device that separates the crude oil produced by the oil well from the associated natural gas. The oil and gas separator is placed between the submersible centrifugal pump and the protector to separate the free gas in the well fluid from the well fluid. The liquid is sent to the submersible centrifugal pump and the gas is released into the annular space of the tubing and casing.

Function of oil and gas separator

The oil and gas separator is one of the important components of the entire submersible electric pump system. Its role is firstly as the suction port for the oil and gas to enter the multi-stage centrifugal pump; secondly, when the mixed gas liquid enters the multi-stage centrifugal pump, it is freed by the separator. The gas is separated from the well fluid, thereby reducing the influence of the gas on the working characteristics of the electric submersible pump, preventing the centrifugal pump from cavitation and gas lock, and enabling the multi-stage centrifugal pump to work normally.

Replacement method

1. Built-in models:

1). Stop the air compressor, close the air pressure outlet, open the drain valve, and confirm that the system has no pressure.

2). Disassemble the pipeline above the oil and gas barrel, and at the same time remove the pipeline from the outlet of the pressure maintaining valve to the cooler.

3). Remove the oil return pipe.

4). Remove the fixing bolts of the cover on the oil and gas barrel, and remove the upper cover of the barrel.

5). Remove the oil and gas separator and replace it with a new one.

6). Install in the reverse order of disassembly.

2. External models:

Stop the air compressor, close the air pressure outlet, open the drain valve, and after confirming that the system has no pressure, remove the old oil and gas separator and replace it with a new one.
