Most truck fuel filters are of the filtration type. When the fuel enters the filter, it passes through the filter element. The filter element is usually made of materials such as filter paper and fibres, which have a lot of tiny pores. As the fuel flows through the filter element, impurity particles (such as rust, dust, sand grains, etc.) are blocked on one side of the filter element because their particle sizes are larger than the pores of the filter element. The filtered clean fuel can then smoothly pass through the filter element and continue to flow to the engine, thus ensuring the normal operation of the engine’s fuel system and preventing impurities from causing wear and blockage to components such as the fuel injection system.
