The air filter must be cleaned when the mileage of the car reaches the interval mileage specified for air filter maintenance, or when the air filter blockage indicator alarms (regardless of the mileage traveled).
(1) Clean the air filter. Loosen the filter latch, remove the nut holding the filter element, remove the cover and pull out the filter element. Take out the filter element, pay attention to prevent impurities from falling into the carburetor. Wipe the inside and outside of the air filter housing with a rag dampened with gasoline.
Check the degree of contamination of the filter element and clean it. When the filter element accumulates as dry dust, compressed air with a pressure of not higher than 500KPa can be used, starting from the inside of the filter element, and blow the dust on the inner and outer surfaces of the filter element evenly up and down in the oblique direction. If compressed air is not available, the filter element can be gently tapped with a driver handle and the external dirt can be brushed with a brush.
During operation, do not hit or bump the filter element with vigorous force. During cleaning, if the filter element is found to be damaged, the filter element should be replaced. Normally used paper filter elements should be replaced at prescribed intervals.
(2) Check the filter element after cleaning. Illuminate the inside of the filter element to observe whether there is damage, small holes or thin parts from the outside, and check whether the rubber gasket is damaged. If there is an abnormality, the filter element and gasket should be replaced.
(3) Replace the filter element of the air filter. Replacement will be carried out according to the regulations of each model. When replacing the filter element, attention should be paid to checking whether the new filter element is damaged, whether the gasket is defective, and if the defect is found, it should be equipped.
(4) Install the air filter. After the filter element is cleaned, the parts are installed in the reverse order of disassembly. The filter element must be installed reliably, and the paper part of the filter element should not be touched by hand or utensils, and especially the oil should not contaminate the filter element.
When the air intake pipeline is installed, it should be sealed to ensure its sealing, especially paying attention to the sealing of the sheath of the air inlet joint.
When maintaining the air filter, you should also carefully check the condition of the hose connected to the air filter, and replace the hose if you find that the hose is cracked, aging, etc.
Clean the air filter and replace the filter element if necessary
Car engines are very delicate parts, and even the smallest impurities can damage the engine. Therefore, before the air enters the cylinder, it must first pass through the fine filtration of the air filter before it can enter the cylinder. The air filter is the guardian saint of the engine, and the state of the air filter is related to the life of the engine.
If the dirty air filter is used in the car, the intake air will be insufficient, the fuel combustion will be incomplete, resulting in unstable engine work, decreased power, and increased fuel consumption. Therefore, the car must keep the air filter clean.
