  The installation and working process of the fuel water separator are as follows:
Installation Steps
Select the installation location: Generally, choose a location near the fuel tank that is convenient for operation and maintenance. At the same time, ensure that the installation location allows the separator to remain in a vertical state to ensure its normal operation.
Connect the inlet and outlet fuel pipes: Connect the outlet fuel pipe of the fuel tank to the inlet of the fuel water separator, and then connect the outlet of the separator to the inlet of the engine’s fuel filter or fuel pump. When connecting, make sure that the fuel pipes are firmly connected to prevent fuel leakage.
Install the drainage device: There is usually a drainage port at the bottom of the separator, and a suitable drainage pipe or container needs to be installed to regularly discharge the separated water. The drainage device should be easy to operate and observe, and at the same time, prevent fuel leakage during the drainage process.

Electrical connection (if applicable): Some fuel water separators are equipped with electronic sensors or heating devices, etc. It is necessary to make the correct electrical connection according to the instruction manual to ensure their normal operation. After the connection, check whether the circuit is connected and whether there are problems such as short circuits or open circuits.

Working Principle and Process
Separation principle: The fuel water separator mainly uses the density difference between oil and water to achieve separation. The density of water is greater than that of fuel. Inside the separator, after the mixture of fuel and water enters, due to the effect of gravity, the water will gradually sink to the bottom of the separator, while the fuel is located at the top, thus achieving preliminary separation.
Filtration and coalescence: In addition to gravitational separation, the separator usually also has filtration devices such as filter elements. When the fuel passes through the filter element, the tiny water droplets in it will be adsorbed and coalesced by the filter element to form larger water droplets, further promoting the separation of water from the fuel. At the same time, the filter element can also filter out impurities in the fuel, improving the cleanliness of the fuel.

Drainage process: As the separation process proceeds, a certain amount of water will accumulate at the bottom of the separator. When the water level reaches a certain height, the water needs to be discharged through the drainage device. Some separators have an automatic drainage function, and devices such as a float switch are used to detect the water level. When the water level reaches the set value, the drainage valve will automatically open to drain the water; for separators with manual drainage, the drainage valve needs to be manually operated regularly to drain the water. During the drainage process, pay attention to observe whether the discharged water is clear and whether there is fuel mixed in. If there are any abnormalities, the working status of the separator should be checked in a timely manner.
