Inspection method of diesel generator air filter

The air filter is a device that removes particulate impurities in the air. If the filter loses its function, it will affect the friction between the piston and the cylinder, which may lead to serious cylinder pulling of the diesel generator.

1. Open air intake method. When the engine is not overloaded and still emits black smoke, the air filter can be removed. If the black smoke disappears at this time, it indicates that the resistance of the air filter is too large and should be dealt with in time; if the black smoke still emits, it means another If there is a reason, it is necessary to find out the reason and eliminate it in time; such as poor fuel injection atomization, improper fuel supply and gas distribution, low cylinder pressure, unqualified valve springs, changes in the shape of the combustion chamber, and burning of the walla cylinder will occur.

2. Water column elevation method. Prepare a basin of clean water and a transparent plastic pipe with a diameter of 10 mm and a length of about 1 meter. When the diesel generator set is running normally, insert one end of the plastic pipe into the basin and the other end into the intake pipe. Observe the height of the water-absorbing surface in the plastic tube, the normal value is 100-150 mm. If it is greater than 150 mm, it means that the air intake resistance is too large, and the Daewoo generator set should solve it in time; if it is less than 100 mm, it means that the filtering effect is poor or there is an air short circuit, and hidden dangers should be found and eliminated.

3. cut off the air method. During normal operation, the air intake part of the air filter is suddenly covered, and the speed of the diesel engine should drop rapidly to the point of flameout, which is normal. If the speed does not change or decreases slightly, it means that there is a short circuit in the air, which should be solved in time.
