Function

The oil-water separator for trucks is an instrument that separates diesel oil and water, which can reduce the failure of fuel injectors and prolong the service life of the engine. Its working principle is mainly based on the density difference between water and fuel oil, using the principle of gravity sedimentation to remove impurities and water. If there is water or impurities in the diesel oil that are not filtered cleanly, it will cause wear and tear on the plunger pair in the fuel injection nozzle and cause strain until the fuel injector is stuck.

Failures caused by problems with the oil-water separator:

01 Unstable engine acceleration, weak acceleration and black smoke
Problems with the oil-water separator will lead to damage to the fuel injector, and the damaged fuel injector will cause the engine to accelerate unstable or weakly, or to emit black smoke and other failures. In severe cases, it will directly damage the engine. Due to the finer workmanship of the fuel injector, its price is also relatively high. Based on the above reasons, when there is a problem with the oil-water separator, it must be replaced in time.

02 Coking
If the oil-water separator is damaged, the water and impurities in the diesel oil will pass through the filter device and accumulate in the intake valve, intake port, and cylinder, forming hard carbon deposits over time, which will affect the work of the engine, and even lead to engine damage in severe cases. .

03 The engine emits white smoke
When the oil-water separator is damaged, it will cause the engine to emit white smoke, because the water in the fuel will turn into water vapor when it is burned, which will cause white smoke. The water vapor in the white smoke will damage the high-pressure fuel injector, resulting in insufficient engine power, which will cause sudden stoppage, and in severe cases will directly damage the engine.
