Fuel filter UF-10K For Yamaha Suzuki Tohatsu Mercury Outboard Engine
Fuel filter UF-10K
Fuel filter classification
1. Diesel filter
The structure of the diesel filter is roughly the same as that of the oil filter, and there are two types: replaceable and spin-on. However, its working pressure and oil temperature resistance requirements are much lower than those of oil filters, while its filtration efficiency requirements are much higher than those of oil filters. The filter element of diesel filter mostly uses filter paper, and some also use felt or polymer material.
Diesel filters can be divided into two types:
(1), diesel water separator
The important function of the diesel water separator is to separate the water in the diesel oil. The presence of water is extremely harmful to the diesel fuel supply system, and corrosion, wear, blockage and even worsen the combustion process of diesel. Engines with emissions above the national level III have higher requirements for water separation and require the use of high-performance filter media.
(2), diesel fine filter
The diesel fine filter is used to filter the fine particles in the diesel. Diesel engines with emissions above the national three are mainly aimed at the filtration efficiency of 3-5 micron particulate matter.
2. Gasoline filter
Gasoline filters are divided into carburetor type and EFI type. For gasoline engines that use a carburetor, the gasoline filter is located on the intake side of the fuel pump, and the operating pressure is lower. Nylon casings are generally used. The gasoline filter is located on the outlet side of the fuel transfer pump and has a high working pressure, usually with a metal casing. The filter element of gasoline filter mostly uses filter paper, and some also use nylon cloth and polymer materials.
Since the combustion method of the gasoline engine is different from that of the diesel engine, the overall requirements are not as harsh as the diesel filter, so the price is cheap.
3. Natural gas filter
Natural gas filters are widely used in gas fields such as metallurgy, chemical industry, petroleum, papermaking, medicine, food, mining, electricity, cities, and households. The gas filter is an indispensable device on the conveying medium pipeline. It is usually installed at the inlet end of pressure reducing valve, pressure relief valve, positioning valve or other equipment to eliminate impurities in the medium and protect the normal operation of valves and equipment. Use, reduce equipment maintenance costs.
How fuel filters work
The fuel filter is connected in series on the line between the fuel pump and the throttle body inlet. The function of the fuel filter is to remove solid impurities such as iron oxide and dust contained in the fuel and prevent the fuel system from being blocked (especially the fuel injector). Reduce mechanical wear, ensure stable engine operation and improve reliability. The structure of the oil burner consists of an aluminum casing and an internal stainless steel bracket. The holder is equipped with high-efficiency filter paper, which is in the shape of a chrysanthemum to increase the flow area. EFI filters cannot be used with carburetor filters.
Since the EFI filter often bears the fuel pressure of 200-300KPA, the compressive strength of the filter is generally required to reach more than 500KPA, and the carburetor filter does not need to reach such a high pressure.
fuel filter action

Why change the fuel filter
As we all know, gasoline is refined from crude oil through a complex process, and then transported to various gas stations through dedicated lines, and finally to the owner’s fuel tank. In this process, impurities in gasoline will inevitably enter the fuel tank, and in addition, with the extension of use time, the impurities will also increase. As a result, the filter used to filter the fuel becomes dirty and full of scum. If this continues, the filtering effect will be greatly reduced.
Therefore, it is recommended to replace when the number of kilometers is reached. If it is not replaced, or delayed, it will definitely affect the performance of the car, resulting in poor oil flow, insufficient fuel, etc., and eventually lead to chronic engine damage, or even engine overhaul. .
