Rotary fuel filter

The top of the fuel filter element has internal threads, and the filter tank is fixed on the threaded joint of the filter seat.

(1) Thoroughly clean the outer surface of the fuel filter assembly.

(2) Loosen the drain at the bottom of the filter and allow the water/fuel to drain into a suitable container. (3) Use a tape wrench or similar tool to loosen the canister, then remove the canister.

(4) Make sure that the threaded fitting is fastened to the filter seat and that the inside is clean.

NOTE: Some factory-assembled filter tanks have special sealant applied to the threaded fittings. Canisters are provided with an internal seal assembly instead. The sealant is held in place by glue clips. Failure to properly assemble the canister seal may result in damage to the fuel injection pump.

(5) Lightly lubricate the two seals on the top of the new canister with clean fuel. Install the new canister onto the filter holder and hand tighten only.

(6) Drain the air from the fuel filter
