How to drain the fuel and water separator of the truck?

Generally, the fuel-water separator of freight cars has a special drain valve, which can drain water after being turned on. Different types of fuel-water separators have different operation methods. It is recommended that car users read the instructions carefully.

The fuel-water separator is an essential device on the truck. The fuel-water separator can remove the water in the diesel, thus extending the service life of the nozzle and the engine. There are two small white cans on the side of the chassis of many trucks, namely the fuel-water separator.

It is recommended that truck drivers often check the condition of the fuel-water separator and replace it in time if it is damaged. If the water in the diesel cannot be separated, the service life of the fuel injector and the engine will be affected.

Trucks are generally high-pressure common rail diesel engines, which have high requirements for diesel quality, because the high-pressure nozzle needs to accurately control the injection pressure, injection time and injection volume. If there are impurities in the diesel or the water is not filtered, the nozzle will be damaged to some extent.

It is recommended that truck drivers choose better quality gas stations when adding diesel, rather than go to poor quality gas stations.

Find the fuel-water separator first, put a container of about 0.2L under the fuel drain plug of the fuel-water separator, unscrew the fuel drain plug anticlockwise, drain the water for about 10 seconds, tighten the fuel drain plug clockwise, then unscrew the exhaust bolt on the top of the filter element anticlockwise, and operate the handle of the hand pump back and forth for about 30 times until there is fuel overflow at the exhaust bolt, and then stop. Then quickly tighten the exhaust bolt clockwise to inject fuel. It should be noted here that after the vehicle is started, check whether the fuel drain plug leaks and observe whether the indicator light of the fuel filter goes out. If not, repeat the above process.
