Oil filter replacement steps

There are two types of oil filters, paper and iron. The paper filter is usually on the top of the engine, and the iron filter is usually on the underside or side of the engine.

The iron filter element needs special tools to disassemble (for example, the machine filter bowl (with a ratchet wrench) or a chain wrench can be used); while the iron filter element: generally use a large-size socket with a ratchet wrench to disassemble, remove the machine filter cover and pull out the paper Just filter.

The advantage of the machine filter bowl is that the force is even, and it is not easy to twist the machine filter. The disadvantage is that the size is fixed, and different types of machine filter bowls are required for different models.

The advantage of the chain wrench is that it is versatile. One wrench can disassemble the machine filter of different sizes. The disadvantage is that the machine filter is easily twisted and deformed, so it is not recommended for novices.

Note: Tighten the machine filter clockwise to loosen, and counterclockwise to tighten; replace the machine filter with a new one and clean up the oil stains with a clean rag.

Specific operation process

(1) Iron filter element: Before screwing in the new filter element, you need to open the new engine oil package, pour two-thirds of the engine oil into the engine filter, and lubricate the sealing strip with the new engine oil.

(2) Paper filter element: The sealing strip on the machine filter cover should be replaced with the machine filter (there is a new sealing strip in the paper machine filter package), and the sealing strip should be lubricated with new machine oil.
