Principle
The filter is used to filter out the fine particles of impurities, colloids and moisture in the engine oil. Because of its large flow resistance, it is mostly connected in parallel with the main oil passage, and the filtered oil enters the oil pan. The most commonly used one is the corrugated microporous paper filter. It is generally composed of a filter housing, an outer shell and a cover, and is connected by a central bolt. There is an oil inlet pipe on the upper part of the shell, an oil outlet pipe and an oil drain plug at the bottom. There is a small oil hole at the upper end of the center tube in the shell. The filter element is sleeved on the center tube and is compressed and positioned by a spring. In order to prevent unfiltered oil from flowing into the filter element from between the splint and the central hole, an oil seal is installed on the center hole of the upper and lower splints.
When the engine is working, the diverted part of the oil flows into the oil filter from the oil inlet pipe, passing through the gap of the filter element, and the dirt in the oil is blocked (filtered). The filtered oil enters the pipe from the small oil hole in the center pipe, and returns to the oil pan through the oil outlet pipe.
