The function of fuel water separation filter

If there is water and impurities in the diesel oil, the parts of the fuel system will corrode and rust due to the water in the diesel oil. Removing the water from the diesel oil is very important for the trouble-free operation of the fuel system and prolonging the service life. On some diesel engines, an oil-water separator is installed between the fuel tank and the fuel transfer pump. The function of the oil-water separator is to filter out some impurities in the diesel oil and remove the water in the diesel oil. The oil-water separator is composed of a manual diaphragm pump, a liquid level sensor, a float, a casing and a cover.

Diesel enters the separator through the oil inlet and flows out through the oil outlet. The moisture in the diesel is separated from the diesel in the separator and deposited at the bottom of the casing, and the float rises with the increase of the accumulated water. When the float reaches the specified water level, the liquid level sensor will connect the circuit, and the warning light on the instrument panel will send out a water signal. Manual diaphragm pump is used for water discharge and exhaust.

The primary fuel filter for diesel vehicles is a filter that separates oil and water. It is a transparent precipitation cup with a mesh filter element, which is connected between the fuel tank and the fuel pump, which can filter out the impurities of larger particles in the diesel oil and function as an oil-water separator. The filter cup body is transparent, and the impurities and water in the cup can be seen clearly, which is convenient for maintenance and replacement. This form of oil-water separation filter is commonly used in diesel vehicles.
